It looks like Microsoft has some competition when it comes to multi-touch surfaces. Recently a company in Finland has released their multi-touch system, the MultiTouch Oy. This system uses the same projector and IR camera technology that the Microsoft surface uses. It also has an impressive running speed of 60fps using desktop hardware. The Oy system allows not just a multi-touch interface but also multi-user interface. The system demoed in the video shows that both users can interact and use the system at the same time with no problems. The Oy system can also display full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution video and can even run multiple videos simultaneously. The systems is designed for commercial use primarily and will retail for $7000 for a 32 inch diagonal screen.
