The Fraunhofer Institute is one of the world’s leading research facilities for digital cinema and development. Recently they announced the opening of the new Fraunhofer IIS building that will have what they call the “Cinema of the future.” This theater seats 70 people and has been fitted with the absolute best in digital audio and video display technology. The cinema will be fitted with two DCP 30 Digital Cinema projectors. Both projectors come with the Dolby 3D system which allows for 3D displays as well as standard displays. These projectors were specifically designed for the “Cinema of the future” and they are designed to protect themselves from dirt and other soiling substances. They are also safeguarded against misalignments and other focusing problems. Other than research and development, the cinema will also be used for presentations and lectures.
