Riviera Theater Finishes 3 Year Renovations, Has 3 Day Celebration

The Riviera Theater in Three Rivers Michigan was the place to go for the best movies and shows back in the 1930s and 40s. It used to show silent movies while the owner’s wife would play piano accompaniment. Since then the theater has been in a state of decay and in need of serious repair. Bruce Monroe saw that the Riviera was up for sale, and remembered his days at the theater, and couldn’t resist buying it. His entire family has been spending the last three years fixing, remodeling, and renovating the theater to look like it did many years ago. The three year renovation has included fixing a holey ceiling, repainting the theater’s walls and stage area, and replacing all 300 light bulbs in the theater’s marquee. The Theater will be making its grand reopening this weekend with three days of shows. The theater will not only show live shows, but also the latest movies with a new digital projector they will be receiving next month.
