We have been hearing for years about the possibility of Pico projectors, but we have yet to see one be released en masse to North America. Recently, the Fuchitek PEP01 was announced as the latest Pico projector that will be joining the projector market soon. It stands less than an inch high and is about the size of a medium sized remote control. It comes with a manual focus and is able to display VGA (640 x 480) resolution with an 80:1 contrast ratio. The PEP01 is also expected to be able to display an image but to 40 inches diagonally. The downside about this projector is that it only has a 40 minute battery life, which is not long enough for any decent movie. Fortunately, the PEP01 does not have a release date or a price yet, so maybe they can work on that battery problem.
