Olympics’ Torch-Lighting Ceremony is Plagued With “Blue Screen of Death”

It looks like the largest gathering of projectors was not with out its problems. During the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics, someone noticed the dreaded “Blue screen of death” projected onto one of the panels of the Bird’s Nest. Many people thought that this was just a computer generated image. But multiple views from multiple people were able to capture the screen show, especially during the torch-lighting climax. Apparently this mistake was able to be recorded on video as well and was able to be seen for up to four and a half hours. As stated in an earlier post the bird’s nest was illuminated with the help of the Christie Roadster S+20K projector.
