NHAS Receives $5000 Grant for New Projector and Other Equipment

The New Hampshire Astronomical Society recently bought new presentation equipment with a $5000 grant they received from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The new equipment includes a new presentation projector, two projection screens, two laptop computers, two copies of Microsoft Office, and two wireless presentation controllers. The society will also be purchasing a brand new solar telescope that they plan to use for daytime presentations. The NHAS is 100% volunteer and is also a nonprofit organization. They are dedicated to furthering public awareness of astronomy and its contribution to science and society. NHAS performs several public observing missions a year as well as a variety of presentations through out the state. Their most popular event is “Skywatches” which is held every month at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium in Concord.
