Lyric Opera House Gets HD Upgrade

The Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore will be paring up for the next several months, October thru May. Lyric is being fitted with the best big theater projector they could find and is using it to projector 10 opera productions that will be performed in the Met. This big feat is accomplished via satellite that will take the recorded media from the Met and send it to the theater system in Lyric. The Lyric Opera House is only the latest to join the Met’s satellite broadcast. The Met broadcasts to several theaters and stage houses through out the world. One of the biggest productions the Metropolitan Opera performs each year is the popular Cirque de Soleil. The projector that will be used in the Lyric is able to display full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and can produce up to 22000 ANSI lumens. Unfortunately the manufacturer and model was not released.
