Mitsubishi has released their newest DLP projector, the XD500U. This model is designed for offices and traveling presenters. The XD500U comes with a variety of features including six color enhancement odes that create dramatically vivid images. It also features Brilliant Color technology that increases black levels and enhances the already stunning display. The XD500U is more than bright enough with 2200 ANSI lumens and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. It also has a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and can scale up to an SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution. The XD500U is also low maintenance, with a filter free design and a 3000 hour lamp life. The design of the chassis also allows for a quick lamp change, even while mounted on the ceiling. With all these features the XD500U also comes with security features to protect itself from thieves. It comes with a password lockout function and an anti-theft security hook. The estimated retail price for the XD500U is just under $1030 and is available through the Mitsubishi website.
