WHDI Standard for Whole-House Wireless HD

From the company that helped develop the Belkin Flywire, comes a new wireless HD standard, WHDI. Amimom has teamed up with major brands including Sony, Sharp, Hitachi, Samsung, and Motorola to create an HD wireless standard for future products. Amimom is creating chips that will go into several HD products. These chips will allow the products to stream HD signals via Wi-Fi connection. Some of these products will include but are not limited to TVs, projectors, game systems, computers, and other HD audio and video equipment. WHDI will allow all products equipped with these chips to transmit to eachother through out your entire house. All of these products can also be linked to a central network and be linked together through a menu system using a pass-key. This means that you can be in your bedroom and play the game system that is located in the living room. WHDI is expected to be finalized by the end of the year, with products hopefully being displayed at CES 09.
