Osram is one of the leading manufacturers for light bulbs, lamps, and LED lighting. Recently Osram announced that they have developed a LED that is able to produce 500 ANSI lumens. They acquired this by optimizing the diode, light converter, and the package. At its optimal setting, the LED is able to produce 136 ANSI lumens which is still double the efficiency of a normal lamp. Several of these LEDs can be grouped together to create smaller, lighter, and cheaper lamps for upcoming projectors.
