You might have reed about the Microvision SHOW projector when it debuted at CES earlier this year. This little device is a stand alone model that is about the size of a cigarette case and uses different colored lasers to display images. The SHOW projector is able to display an image up to 100 inches diagonally and never needs to be focused. Recently Microvision announced that they will be releasing their projector sometime in 2009. This decision was partly made due to the number of ultra portable projectors that have been circulating through the conventions. A number of major manufacturers including Texas Instruments, 3M, and Optoma are planning to release their models as early as 2009. The race has started to be the first to release a consumer ultra portable projector.
