The Samsung SP-A400B projector is one of Samsung’s newest models to come out. It features a 2500:1 contrast ratio, 2000 ANSI lumens, and a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. The writers at Register Hardware had the chance to see the A400B’s display capabilities first hand. They noticed that this model was designed to be able to be used for both business and home theater applications. The A400B is able to change from the office to the home with no problems and can display the same quality images every time. Unfortunately, they also thought that this diversity was also its biggest flaw. Because the A400B is not focused on one field the reviewers thought that it was not able to perform as well as a projector specified for that purpose. They went on to say, “Samsung has designed a single projector and is trying to promote it to two different types of customer: business users and consumers. It’s found a good balance between the two usage modes, but unless you plan to use the same projector in the office and at home. It would seem to make more sense to buy one that’s tuned to the environment it’s be used in.”
