Texas Instruments Displays 3D and Lamp-Free Projectors at InfoComm

Texas Instruments is all about new technology this year at InfoComm. They are demoing several new prototypes that are the first of their kind. One of these models is being labeled the first home theater lamp-free projector. It utilizes a PhlatLight LED light source and a BrilliantColor chipset to achieve this goal. This new design will be able to deliver superior full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and reduce several maintenance costs including replacement lamps and air filters. TI announced that several major manufacturers, including Optoma, have already signed up to use this new design. TI will also be demonstrating the first 3D front projector. Most 3D displays are created by using two or more projectors showing slightly different images at the same screen. TI’s new 3D projector technology allows one projector to do the work of several allowing for a system that is affordable and able to be setup at home. This technology has already been used in the Projectiondesign F10 AS3D projector, but is also expected to be made portable and will be used in future Optoma Pico Projectors.
