Panasonic PT-AE2000 Projector Review

For the Panasonic PT-AE2000, we have yet another review, due to the fact that it’s a great addition to any home theater. Apparently, this reviewer knows projectors; he had the Panasonic PT-L500U in his home for several years and we can imagine during this time he became familiar to Panasonic. However, with regard to the PT-AE2000, he expected “more” from Panasonic. His reasoning on this is that the casing is twice the size of the PT-L500U, which is older, in addition the contrast, brightness, and features haven’t improved much either. This projector has a 16,000:1 contrast ratio with 1,500 Lumens, three HDMI 1.3 inputs, and manual horizontal and vertical lens shift. The price on this projector is $2,700, a typical price for models such as this one.
But once again, with regard to the black casing the reviewer states, “If you were to flash a picture of the AE2000 to someone, they’d think you just showed them a black travel case. Its stark box-like visage isn’t much to look at and it is better suited to mount in a wall cavity than have out in the open. At the same time, when a movie or videogame is playing, how often are you looking at the projector?” When hooked up to a Playstation 3 there were no compatibility issues, and it projected an image between 100” and 110” from a throw of around 13 feet. When you’re around 5 or more feet away the fan noise is practically non-existent. When viewing a movie, he states “The factory default settings for cinema 1 are remarkably close to where I would leave them for optimal viewing. The contrast ratio, which is 16,000:1 “looks great on paper, but looks even better in practice, “ it produces black levels that are up-to-date with modern technology. Colors are vibrant, even with the 1,500 Lumen lamp. The verdict on this device is that it’s a “beast of a projector,” and is definitely worth the price.
