BenQ SP820 Projector Review

The Taiwan based manufacturer BenQ is ready for a comeback, and their new products which were released last year have caused quite the stir. This reviewer tested the SP820, which is a 4,000 Lumen LCD projector that has a retail price of around $1,999. Initially, the reviewers noticed a built-in grip handle for this projector, which makes it very easy to lift and carry the unit. Above the lens opening, there are simple adjustments, which move the parts out of the way from accidental breakage. This projector is lightweight, and measures around 11.8 inches by 9.6 inches by 3.5 inches and weighs 8.2 pounds. According to the review “The Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN)’ DLP BrilliantColor technology produced extremely vivid colors against noticeably dark blacks. When evaluated against 17 calibration tests in the DisplayMate suite, the SP820 needed no adjustments at all. The native aspect ratio is 4:3, but 16:9 is selectable.”
