Canon Announces LCoS Reflective LCD panels

On May 20, 2008, Canon Inc. announced that they have developed LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) reflective LCD panels, which is a primary technology used in multimedia projectors. When comparing this device to others, the LCoS reproduce exceptionally high resolution images free of the “lattice effect,” which is a faint grid pattern appears over the projected image. Canon has developed two types of LCOS panels, the first is a 0.71-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) panel and second is a 0.55-inch SXGA (1,400 x 1,050 pixels) panel.
