Super Hi-Vision Demonstration at IBC

At the IBC 2008 in Amsterdam from September 11-16, 2008 a live demonstration of the Japanese Super Hi-Vision will be held. The companies NHK of Japan, RAI of Italy and BBC of UK will show demonstrations regarding the next generation high definition system that has both 7680 x 4320 pixel images and 22.2 channel audio. This event will also include Siemens, the BBC’s technology partner, Cable & Wireless company that will provide fibre connectivity from London to Amsterdam, and the company Eutelsat which will provide a satellite link from Torino to Amsterdam. The projector used to show the content will be an 8k x 4k projector; content will be on a 3840 x 2160 pixel LCD display.
