Goldeneye uses Light Recycling to Build LEDs for Projection Technology

LED

In a recent technological development, Goldeneye has utilized light recycling to build high performance green LEDs for projection devices. Normally, the Green LEDs were the reason that brightness was limited on LED projectors. This technology now enables projectors with outputs of 1000 on-screen Lumens. During a demonstration they showed that these light sources deliver around “300 lumen/mm2 in the green wavelength at a drive current of only 1 amp per mm2.” With this technology, the three-module RGB units have the capability to produce over 1,720 Lumens from a 4 mm2 emitting area. In normal flat lighting sources, 30-50% of the light is thrown away when “coupling into a light train.” This technology can solve the issues involved with the process of lighting in these situations.
