According to recent analysis, 3LCD projection display technology has a 9-point unit share lead over competitors in the first quarter of 2008, according to Pacific Media Associates (PMA). Their products kicked off 2008 with 54 percent total U.S. market share, but according to PMA’s monthly tracking reports, the technology also leads in all three front projection channels covering the Pro AV, Distribution and Retail channels. “3LCD technology certainly started off the year with a strong quarter in the U.S. market,” said Michael Abramson, PMA. “It is a significant testament to both 3LCD technology and the companies that use it. The market is showing strong demand for what they are offering.” This technology makes use of a 3-chip optical engine for its processing and visual output that has colors with no “rainbow effect.” This is a big step for 3LCD as they will continue to bring optimum technology to the industry.
