Recently, Apogee announced a recent addition to their HDMI video extender series, with HDMI Cat 5e and Cat6 Extenders that will allow for a longer distance when using HDMI with video devices. According to Apogee Product Manager Steven Reyes, “We’re very excited to finally launch our full line of our Apogee HDMI power products line and we expect the HDMI Cat 5e extenders to be a popular product.” These connectors will allow for connection over various HDMI sources, including a satellite receiver or a HD DVD player, in addition to these features, they are also smaller than typical HDMI cables and can boost HDMI 1080p signals “up to 60 meters and HDMI 1080i signals up to 120 meters.”
