Epson EMP-TW2000 Projector Review

In this review, the Epson EMP-TW2000 is compared to the cheaper model, EMP-TW1000 due to the fact that it did not meet expectations with regard to black levels. However, it’s always good to keep an open mind, and that’s exactly what they did with this review of the TW1000. Keep in mind, there was room for improvement, and the folks at Epson did much to improve this model, so let’s get down to business. Firstly, the build quality; a solid, reassuring, and curvy design proves to be attractive no matter what the environment. Setup is simple; wheels on the edge allow you to shift the image around. Includes a remote control for obvious reasons, and is easy to calibrate.
With regard to the connections, the reviewer states, “it’s particularly gratifying to spot two HDMI inputs, especially as these are both built to the latest v1.3 specification and so enjoy compatibility with the extra colour range possible via the xvYCC picture format. They can take 1080p/24 feeds too, plus you get the inevitable component video input, D-Sub PC port, composite video and S-Video fallback options.” With a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, the projector has impressive optical features that are combined with a dynamic iris system to deliver a contrast ratio of 50,000:1
As duly noted, projectors of this caliber (LCD) provide deep black levels, this includes the TW2000. This projector even includes settings to change the color temperature, skin tone, iris adjustment, brightness control, lamp output, and various other aspects of picture quality. The verdict is that this projector is Epson’s best, and is in competition with the InFocus IN82, and the JVC DLA-HD1, but nevertheless sports an excellent design and optimum image quality.
