Projection Technology Market Increasing Rapidly in Australia

Recently in Australia, the demand for projection technology is increasing due to the advances being made in high definition video and bulb technology; bulbs are getting smaller and brighter and causing sales to skyrocket. According to this analysis, there was a “represented growth of 4 per cent over 2006 (91,365 units)” which shows a rise in sales, and according to Michael Pleasants, Director of e-commerce and marketing at Epson, “Home users are being blown away by the ability to easily produce large screen images,“ Pleasant adds, “We’re seeing this in all manner of display devices. People are increasingly seeing and wanting that big-screen experience.” For example, the Epson EMP1715, or the Viewsonic PJ358 allow a user to plug in USB to show presentations, which shows that the interface of these devices is increasing rapidly. According to Bruce Bealby, “Most applications now need only 2,000 Lumens, but most projectors these days tend to have a minimum of 3,000 Lumens, and that is more than enough for most business and home applications.” The features included with the projectors are expected to increase in models that previously lacked specific functionality; the demand for projectors is also expected to continue rising.
