Cine-tal Develops Image Processing Solution for Dolby

Today, Cine-tal Systems announced that they have developed a customized image processing technology for Dolby Laboratories for the purpose of 3D movie playback while in production of Dolby 3D Digital Cinema movies. The technology will be named Cine-tal Color Processing for Dolby 3D, and will employ this processing for playback of any 3D material not yet employed by DCP (Digital Cinema Package). According to David Gray, Vice President of Worldwide Production Services, Dolby Laboratories, “We are excited to be working with Cine-tal Systems on the Dolby 3D Color Processor which brings Dolby 3D to the post production facilities.” This technology is already being used in Hollywood studios and at Dolby Laboratories’ facility in Burbank. Dolby 3D Digital Cinema Technology works in conjunction with digital cinema projectors.
