Panasonic PT-AE2000E LCD Projector Review

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Panasonic

For this reviewer, the Panasonic PT-AE2000E makes an impressive product due to image clarity. The first aspect of the AE2000 is the connections, which include three HDMI connectors, two video, D-Sub PC port, S-video, composite, and an RS232 port. In addition to these useful features, there are two wheels on the top which can be used to adjust the image’s vertical and horizontal position. According to the reviewer, “Joining the Smooth Screen optical system in working to improve the AE2000’s pictures are a quartet of other significant tricks. First up, colour processing is a high-powered 16-bit affair, which should ensure that colour blends look perfectly smooth, avoiding the ‘striped’ appearance you sometimes see at the affordable end of the projection market.” The AE2000 also uses a Cinema Colour Management utility that allows for color correction.

According to the reviewer, “But here it really does smooth away any trace of the so-called LCD ‘chicken wire effect’, while still leaving quality HD sources such as The Prestige on Blu-ray looking terrifically sharp and detailed.” So with regard to clarity, this projector is fairly accurate. For the final decision on this projector, the reviewer decides that the 2000E doesn’t cut it when in comparison to its predecessor, the PT-AE1000E; but all-in-all it remains a worthwhile projector.

In addition to the ports, there are other cables including AC, VGA, USB, composite, S-Video, and two audio cables. According to the reviewer, “You can control the projector, navigate through a slide show, and highlight key points.” The projector remains portable when adding the additional accessories including a short-throw lens and standard complement of cables, which brings it to around 9 pounds. With regard to image quality, the reviewer states: “The CP755ew did a great job with color accuracy, yielding very nice yellows, mostly attributable to its LCD technology. Unfortunately, the focus and optical zoom rings on the lens mounting are too narrow and too hard to manipulate.” But, all-in-all the device delivers quality as a full-featured projector with great brightness.

What to Know When Purchasing a Projector

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Epson

You might be overwhelmed when purchasing a projector, but you’re in luck because this article might be useful for you. If you spend a large amount of time watching television, it might be ideal for you to have the largest amount of resolution possible. For this reviewer, the Sony VPL-AW10 projects a fine 720p image, and costs around $1,200. Also, the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 UB is proclaimed to have an attractive 1080p picture for around $3000. But according to the reviewer, “If money’s no object, you can drop $15,000 on the Marantz VP-11S2, which utilizes higher-quality optics. For using these projectors, near darkness is ideal. With regard to noisy operating sound, the Sony and Epson have a quieter tone; this is important because it could interfere with the film audio if you are trying to hear your movie. As most already know, the largest hidden cost factor for a projector is the bulb, which should be replaced every one to four years depending upon use, but it’s always important to look at picture quality first.

Star Ceiling Creators Install JVC DLA-RS2 Projector

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Box

Previously, the creators in the star ceiling post regretted installing a curved screen which you can read about if you click here, but now they are up to some serious business; installing the projector. We couldn’t help but notice that they are making some progress with their home theater. As previously mentioned, they purchased a Panasonic AE1000U, but it lacked sufficient brightness. After making their final decision, they settled on the JVC DLA-RS2. Installing the projector was, so it seems an easier process then the star ceiling. Using a Chief mount, they mounted the projector onto the ceiling, but due to the inefficiency of the way it was mounted, they went with a hushbox that would ensure protection of the projector. Finally, the projector was turned on and worked like a charm.
