Sony Creates New Division in Support of 4k Technology

In hopes of increasing awareness of 4k projection technology, Sony Electronics has created a new business group, called the Digital Cinema Services and Solutions Division, which is located in Los Angeles. This group will install, maintain, and finance programs that deal with the digital cinema industry, primarily servicing clients of the Sony CineAlta 4k SXRD Projector, also known as the SRX-R220. Realizing that the conventional cinema market is moving to digital cinema, this recent move by Sony will be detrimental to encouraging the use of 4k, as opposed to 2k projection. Providing his management experience to the company, Michael Fidler will be senior vice president of the newly created group.

This is fantastic news, as owner of a small (for now) production company and also owner of several RED ONE 4K cameras, and a profound taste for the highest quality in image, when sharing my visions in telling my stories, it is fUndamentally important to have a much higher number of Cinemas with the capacity to be screening 4K material.
As an independent Filmmaker, with several projects in the works, this could be the greatest thing, not only because of the saving not having to do a film out, but mostly because of the quality of the image will be as is intended from the original capture in 4K.
I own your baby SXRD for my home and it is stunning, every one of my guess is amazed of its quality, projected on a Draper tensioned High DeF Gray 13′ Screen.
You can count me in for anything you might need as far as helping your campaign for this fantastic initiative.
Best of luck Michael .
