Sony VPL-EX5, ES5, EW5, and EW50 Projectors

Sony announced yesterday that four new projectors will be released for Asia Pacific. These new models are part of the new E-Series that features 3LCD displays. The first and lesser of the new line is the VPL-ES5. It features SVGA (800 x 600) resolution and 2000 ANSI lumens. Next is the wide screen VPL-EW5, which features WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution and 600:1 contrast ratio. The EW5 also has the same amount of lumens that the ES5 has. The VPL-EW5 also has a HDMI input. The next model in the series is the VPL-EX5. It features a 700:1 contrast ratio and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. It also has the same 2000 ANSI lumens as the others above. The last of the four is the VPL-EX50. This projector has the same resolution and contrast ratio of the EX5. However it does have 2500 ANSI lumens to display a brighter picture. All four projectors are designed for businesses and can also support HD 1080i format. Prices have yet to be announced but they are expected to debut in April.
