Electronic House recently wrote a Q&A article that talks about how to buy a projector. This helps explain key factors needed in order to select the best projector for your room. It also talks about benefits that projectors have, in relation to price range. One of the questions asked was about the difference between single-chip and three-chip projectors. The Electronic House Staff answered by stating, “Generally more affordable and compact, single-chip projectors offer value solutions and the entry level as well as very high performance at higher price points.” They continued to say, “For high-end home theaters or extreme viewing applications, three-chip DLP projector provide great output levels. Large three-chip projectors will provide a greater sense of depth and fidelity with extremely accurate color spectrum, more advanced signal processing and grayscale performance that provides increased image detail and subtlety.”
