iCinema is an interactive cinema research company that researches and designs new ways that digital images can be used. Recently, iCinema teamed up with Projectiondesign to create two new and interesting products. The first is a product called the Advanced Visualization and Interaction Environment (AVIE). AVIE is the first 360 degree stereoscopic panoramic projection environment. The system uses a cylindrical silvered screen that measures 35 feet in diameter and 13 feet high. It also includes seven PCs and twelve F1+ projectors to create the 3D images. With the help of an infrared camera the audience can interact with the projected environment and avatars in the environment. The other product iCinema has designed is the iDome. the dome uses a 13 feet diameter fiberglass dome that allows 360 x 180 degree projection. iCinema decided to use the F30 projector for this product due to its HD (1920 x 1080) resolution capabilities. The iDome allows viewers to be in a completely interactive environment that is projected all around them.
