At the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Texas Instruments Inc announced that they are currently developing two new chipsets for mobile devices. The first set will allow mobile devices to project images onto any surface. These chips were designed for pico projector and will help overcome the limitations of a tiny phone screen. TI debuted similar chipsets last year. The second chipset will allow mobile devices to record video in HD resolution. Previous chipsets only allowed devices to playback HD images but not record them. The images could then be converted to lesser resolutions for sending through text or emails. TI did not release any customers purchasing these chips.
