Nautilus Home Theater with Steampunk Style

Here is an interesting home theater for all those who enjoy steampunk gadgets. Audio by Design created this theater in the style of the Nautilus submarine that stared in the 1870 novel, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The home owner, Randy Moran, wanted something that his children would enjoy. The designer wanted the theater to be more like the sub in the book instead of the one designed and used in the 1954 Walt Disney movie. The entire room is designed with a Victorian style including period fabrics for carpeting and seats. It also has foam supports and ceiling work to make the rest of the room look like the metal insides of the Nautilus, complete with portholes and standing dive suit. The projector selected for this theater was the InFocus Screen Play 7200 DLP projector. The 7200 features HD capabilites, 1000 ANSI lumens, and a 1400:1 contrast ratio. Moran decided to complete this home theater with a separate gaming room for children to enjoy, also designed to look like part of the Nautilus.
