Epson has announced that they are mass producing a new optical compensator. This device is meant to enhance the image quality of 3LCD projectors using high temperature polysilicon (HTPS) LCD panels. The compensator will enhance the contrast ratio by 34% and increase the light transmittance by 3%. Previous compensators would use organic material to allow the projector to have high contrast and brightness. This new device uses inorganic materials in order to enhance the quality of the image. This new technology is going to be fitted in all new Epson 3LCD projectors.
