Lumus Video Eyeglasses

glasses_a1.jpg

Did your parents ever tell you not to sit to close to the TV? The developers at Lumus must not have been told this. Their new technology, video eyeglasses, uses mini projectors mounted on the temples of the frame to show video and pictures. The lens’ use LOE technology to receive images from any portable digital device and then reflects them off the ultra thin LOE lens into the wearer’s eyes. This design is suppose allow the wearer to see images as if they were watching a 60 inch screen from 10 feet away. There are plans to create HD lenses as technology develops, but as of right now the glasses can offer QVGA(320 x 240) and VGA (640 x 480) resolution.

Lumus says their LOE sunglasses will be available through consumer electronicsstores and cell phone providers ( starting with Tier 1 cell phone companies ) starting in late 2008 ( this might mean as far off as seven months from now ). If you let me know where you might find one - particularly if available over the Internet - I’ll let you know where I did the same.
