Aurora Systems is one of the leading manufactures of liquid crystal on silicon displays (LCoS). They recently announced that they have developed a new Micro LCD display that can be fitted into mobile phone projectors and other mobile applications. The LAZR IMAGR comes in a variety of sizes and resolutions ranging from VGA (640 x 480) all the way up to WXGA (1280 x 768). There is no information as to which companies will use these display panels. Aurora has also developed another chipset called LAZR DRIVR. This device was designed to enhance VGA and SVGA resolutions and also enables memory to be embedded in the driver chip to limit total power consumption.
