Displaytech Displays iView Pico Projector at CES 08
Two months ago we told you about Displaytech and their FLCOS micro-displays. Recently, iView, a major company that excels in miniature projectors, have announced they will be bringing their Pico projector to CES in Las Vegas. This projector has been fitted with the FLCOS display panel. The panel’s main feature is its low power consumption. Because of its size, the FLCOS only requires 100mW of power. These projectors are able to be fitted into a variety of electronics including cell phones, camcorders, and laptops. This Pico projector will be on display in the Displaytech’s private suite.

With companies like Displaytech,Microvision,Texas Instruments (DLP tech in pico projectors), Explay and now even 3M with LCoS tech like Displaytech´s solution.
We will se pica projectors forthcoming years in all kind of devices not only cell phones and PDA and in portable mediaplayers. Notebook´s will probably even get it.
Because it is some different technologies the prize can´t be so high.
