Recently a team of companies have come together to form a group called WirelessHD. The WirelessHD group includes some of the major electronic companies like Intel, LG electronics, Matsushita, NEC, Samsung, SiBEAM, Sony Corp., and Toshiba. This group was designed to create a new way to connect your electronics with out the need for wires and cables. The WirelessHD group designed and ratified the WirelessHD 1.0 standard, which can transmit HD signals from your gadgets (game consoles, cable boxes, DVR, camcorders, and other devices) through an unlicensed 60GHz frequency to your display device (projector, HDTV, monitor, or other display devices). The WirelessHD group has also got the help from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). They will be working with the group to guarantee protected high definition broadcasts are secured during transmission. Another advantage to having the WirelessHD 1.0 standard is that it will make all electronics that follow its framework interoperable. Leaving manufacturers the ability to focus on design and performance.
