Jaguar and Land Rover are working together to develop a new and easier way to model new cars. By using eight Sony SRX-S105 projectors, they have created a “virtual reality center” that will allow people to view new cars with 3D images instead of using a fully built prototype. Viewers will wear 3D glasses and be able to explore cars through a series of images and presentations. The SRX-S105 was chosen because of it’s 4096 x 2160 resolution, which is 4x the quality of HD displays. The Virtual Reality Cave will be finished some time in 2008.
