Texas Instruments has been busy the past couple of months with their new Pico Projector. They recently announced two big announcements. First, they have already developed a second Pico Projector. This new LED model is only 10mm thick and contains no moving parts. It is able to produce an image the size of an ordinary piece of paper (8.5” x 11”). The second announcement is that Foxconn has agreed to use TI’s projectors in upcoming products. Foxconn is the manufacturer of many popular electronics including Macbook Pro, Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, iPod Nano and the iPhone. There is no information as to whether or not there will be a projector in the new iPhone. This agreement should give Microvision and Motorola hard competition with their PicoP projector.
