LG HS101 Projector is Coming to the US

Coming to the US is the HS101 by LG. This projector is LG’s first hand held portable projectors, weighing in at about 2lbs. This projector delivers a 2000:1 contrast ratio and SVGA (800 x 600) resolution. Part of its small size is due to the tiny LED lamps used to provide the projectors 100 ANSI lumens. When this projector hits markets it will retail for around $1000.

Panasonic PT-AX200 Projector: Built for Gamers

The PT-AX200 by Panasonic is probably the first projector made with gamers in mind. With 2000 ANSI lumens and HD (1280 x 720) resolution this projector is able to produce at lease a 100” screen, diagonally. They also feature a new system called their “Light harmonizer 2” system. This system enhances gamma, iris, lamp power, and sharpness settings to give you the ultimate gaming experience. This projector will sell for $2749 when released. There is also talk about two more projectors due in October. There is no information about them yet.

Samsung SP-A800B Projector

Samsung is announcing its latest projector. With HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, the SP-A800B is predicted to turn some heads when its released. In addition to the HD resolution, it also features 1000 ANSI lumens to light up your home theater. There isn’t any information about price or release date, but that isn’t stopping Samsung from showing it off. The model is being made with home theaters in mind, so the price should fit the market. Epson MovieMate 50 & 72 Projectors

Epson is coming out with two new projectors to add to their list, the MovieMate 50 and MovieMate 72. Both pojectors have HD (1280 x 720) resolution as well as built in DVD players. The MovieMate 72 also has an added feature of a swivel section. This allows you to position it anywhere in the room and have the 4, 5W stereo, speakers pointed directly at you. The MovieMate 50 is set to retail for $799. The MovieMate 72 is set to sell for $1199. Unfortunately, all other specifications are being held until their release.

Hitachi CP-X205 & CP-X305: New Duo Coming to Town

Hitachi has created two new LCD projectors to add to their family. First is the CP-X205 featuring 2200 lumens and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, which makes it a perfect projector for any business room. With a wide variety of input sockets, this projector is ready for what you want to connect it to. Also coming out is the CP-X305. This big brother has more to bring with 2600 lumens and a 35ft throw distance, however will only have the XGA (1024 x 768) resolution that the X205 has. Both projectors are supposed to be moderately priced and on the market soon.

Sanyo LP-Z2000 LCD Projector

People in Japan will have a new projector to look at starting November 1st. The Sanyo LP-Z2000, which comes with a 1080p resolution, a pair of HDMI 1.3a terminals and a 15000:1 contrast to give it an edge over some of its peers. It also has a 165W lamp, three LCDs and a 2x zoom. This model will be on sale for a little more than ¥378,000 (about $3,255).

Mitsubishi LVP-HC6000 LCD Projector

Mitsubishi is currently doing a test run to see how the LVP-HC6000 sells in parts of Africa and Asia. If the projector is a hit then it will be distributed worldwide. The projector features LCD technology, a 12000:1 contrast ratio, a 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution and 800 Lumens. If this model makes it to the US it should retail for around $3000.

Sony VPL-VW60 SXRD Projector

Sony has announced a new projector to come in September. The VPL-VW60 has the latest in Iris 2 technology, which gives it a 35000:1 contrast ratio. In addition to that, the projector also features 1080p HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and 1000 lumens. This projector is supposed to be better than its predecessor from last year, the VPL-VW50. The price is estimated at around $3853.

The Ultimate Phone by I-Mate

It looks like projectors and phones are going to join together sooner than expected. I-Mate has literally created the Ultimate phone and is expecting to launch it early next year. This phone at first glance doesn’t look very special, but when it is connected to a projector or TV, it can transmit XGA resolution. This development is the first step to having portable projectors. The Ultimate is able to send a variety of images to your projector, word documents, power point and video just to name a few. Now the business person on the go won’t have to deal with a lot of cords and connections. All they need is a projector and their Ultimate cell phone.

Infocus has released the ultra thin Work Big In12 Projector. Standing only 1.69″ tall, this model is ideal to put in your computer bag. It comes with composite, component, VESA, S-Video and VGA 15pin connections. It also features an 1800:1 contrast ratio and 2000 lumens to light up any business meeting you go to. The In12 will be priced at just under $1,300 and is already available on their website.
