empx5822.jpg

Epson is coming out with two new projectors in the next couple of months. The EMP-X5 and EMP-822 are conveniently both small and light. Although there isn’t a lot of information on these two projectors, they give us 400:1 contrast as well as a minimum of 2200 Lumens. They have a few more connections than the EMP-X5, but it shouldn’t affect the price by much. Both projectors are estimated to be around $1600.00 which isn’t that bad for what these models have to offer.

The time has finally come for Sony’s SRX-R220 to be revealed. This theater projector is able to display 18,000 lumens with its 4 KW lamp. It also delivers the same 4096 x 2160 resolution as its siblings who share the same series. Standing over 5ft tall, this big boy is no small piece of equipment. It comes with a wide variety of equipment including an LMT-100 media processor, screen management system, an extra large RAID storage and a built in power supply. This model will be available in May and, with any luck, will be showing up in theaters shortly thereafter.

777_main1.jpg

The Infocus Screenplay 777 is a wonderful projector for anyone who can afford it. The 5000:1 contrast gives you nothing but clear and high definition pictures. It beams out 2000 lumens and, with SXGA resolution the 777, will definitely turn your home into a movie theater. The original price of this projector was close to $50,000.00. However, recent news has stated that the price has been slashed to $19,999.00. That’s still a little pricey for the average Joe, but it is at least a little more affordable for those who wish to have a movie theater in their house.

benq_sp830.jpg

BenQ has created a pair of new projectors that will be hitting the Malaysian market soon. The SP830 and SP831 have the ability to make you see double with their split screen technology. This means they are able to show two images through one lens at the same time. In addition, they both carry 1366 x 768 resolution and a 2000:1 contrast. The only noticeable differences between these projectors is the brightness. SP830 only has 3500 where SP831 the has 4000 lumens. With Hollywood quality, it’s a wonder that these are able to stay under the $4,000 mark.
