Engadget posted the last part of their ongoing series on how to build a LCD projector a mere day after part two. NEC Introduces Three New Budget LCD Projectors

NEC VT49 VT490 VT590

To start off November, NEC launched seven new products ranging from Plasma TVs to Plasma Monitors to LCD Projectors. The three new LCD projectors introduced cater to the traveling business-person on a budget, providing function and affordability. First up is the NEC VT49 which offers a native SVGA (800 x 600) resolution and 1600 ANSI lumens for only $699 USD. If the VT49 isn’t bright enough for you, you can step up to the NEC VT490 which not only adds an extra zero to the model number, but also adds 400 more lumens for only $40 more. 2000 lumens for $739 USD isn’t too shabby, all things considered. Last but not least, the NEC VT590 shares the same specifications as the VT490 except that NEC throws in three XGA (1024 x 768) Polysilicon LCD panels and ups the price of the VT590 to $859 USD. All three share a contrast ratio of 600:1, weigh less than 6.5 lbs, and come with a three year warranty, which makes these three powerful, portable, and inexpensive solutions for everyone. If you want to know the other specifications, check out a side-by-side comparison of the three.
