Toshiba TDP-FF1AU Portable LED Projector

Toshiba released their first portable DLP projector that uses an 10,000 hr LED light engine, rather than a traditional mercury-based lamp, that can be battery operated, making it one of the most portable projectors available. Weighing in at only 1.1 lbs (1.9 lbs with the battery), the Toshiba TDP-FF1AU can project a 68 inch diagonal SVGA (800 x 600) image. Instead of lumens, the TDP-FF1AU uses 400 lux units as a brightness gauge. While lux and lumens are very different, for this, it would be best to treat it as a 400 lumens projector, meaning that it’s great for small presentations, but just don’t plan on giving any PowerPoints in the corporate auditorium. For $699 USD, this is nifty little gadget that will be of great use to those not wanting to haul around a 5 lb “portable” projector.
