Engadget is running a three-part series on how to build your own LCD projector using an LCD monitor and a few random supplies gathered from around the internet. While the end result will most likely be very bulky and not particularly portable, it still looks like a fun little project. Many people have had great success with building their own projector as a cost-effective alternative to buying a projector. For others, it’s more of a hassle than what it’s worth, but if you’re handy with the tools, this might be a fun project to do sometime.
