The Grand Cinema™ C3X revolutionized the home theater projection market when it was launched in late 2005, bringing high-end picture quality to the market in a stylish, compact format. Now, for late 2007, SIM2 is about to do it all over again, with the launch of the Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080.

This next-generation home theater projector is totally unique to SIM2 - no other manufacturer has the ability to produce a high performance 3-chip projector with such compact dimensions, which is why SIM2 has taken out five separate patents for this product alone. The Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080 is without doubt a true thoroughbred, offering unprecedented picture quality for the discerning home theater customer.

The Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080 achieves this extraordinary picture quality through the partnership of the latest 0,95" 1080p DarkChip4 DLP® chipset from Texas Instruments and the precision optics of SIM2's ALPHAPATH™ light engine. No other technology can match the superb color depth, excellent contrast ratio (>10.000:1 typical) and exceptional brightness that C3X 1080 delivers.

The C3X 1080 utilizes true 10-bit video processing (with high-definition scaling and de-interlacing capabilities) to create clean, artefact-free video images.
10-bits-per-channel processing produces 1024 shades of gray (or shades of a single color) : the result is the ability to render over 1 billion colors on-screen, whilst also making the projector compatible withFull HD 1080p content (including 1080p@24fps) .

To aid calibration of the projector, SIM2 introduces a new advanced color management calibration software that enables complete control over the primary, secondary and white point color coordinates. This PC-based software gives calibration experts unprecedented control over the projector image quality. The image can be further optimized by using one of the nine sets of gamma curves available, these can be used to correct for variations in the source material, or differing levels of ambient lighting, or simply to allow for individual viewing preferences.

For ease of installation, a choice of three lens options are available for C3X 1080: T1 (short-throw) 1.3-1.7:1, T2 (long-throw- standard) 1.7-2.6:1, and T3 (long-throw) 2.6-3.5:1 (available Q1 2008), which allows for greater flexibility in the positioning of the projector.

On the connectivity front, the C3X 1080 has a extensive choice of both analogue and digital video inputs, including two HDCP enabled HDMI™ sockets - ensuring full compatibility with 1080p HDTV and the vast array of today's video sources.
