Review: I bought my projector and screen package at Sam’s wholesale club. 6 months later I am getting a warning to replace the lamp. I call Epson technical support and ask how long they rate the bulbs for. Tech support states the bulbs are rated for 3000 hours, and proceeds to walk me through finding how many hours I have on my bulb. 1990 hours have been logged for my bulb. That’s 1010 hours under what the bulb is rated for. Tech support tells me that all he can do is sell me a bulb. BS the projector is 6 months old. If ever 6 months I have to buy a $200 bulb, in a couple of years I could have purchased a very very very nice large flat screen and with surround sound system.
I bought this projector to replace an 11year old sharp vision projector. In the 11 years I had this projector I had to replace the bulb once. I do not expect a bulb to last 11 years, but at least 1-2 years. I also have also had several other brand projectors and never have I had to replace a bulb after 6 months. I do believe this is the last Epson product I will be purchasing. Their tech support was Indian and very hard to understand until I asked to speak to a manager who was rude and a very poor listener. It took me nearly 15 minutes of repeating that my projector is 6 months old and bulb needs replacement. Customer service is non-existent with Epson. Take a look at another brand.
