Pros: super bright, when its working. Easily get 100" screen that looks fantastic, rainbow effect is negligible and only really noticeable if you search for it. Heaps of different input types

Cons: Not very reliable at all.

Review: Has a very difficult to solve fault where the projector randomly shuts down, displaying either a lamp warning or a temp warning or sometimes nothing at all and goes into standby. I have had the projector in and out of service 5 times for 4 months and the problem still exists. Acer are very reluctant to replace the projector which is now being sent to acers head technical office where they will try again to repair it and failing that may finally look into a replacement. If it worked it would definetly be one of the best value for money projectors out there... if it worked

Pros: Great lumen output, great throw range

Cons: I had this projector for 760 hours before the first bulb went out. No crazy power cycles, surges, or constant running. I just watched a movie in the evenings. Sent in for repair to the tune of $40 shipping. Got it back in a few weeks. Second bulb lasted 380hrs. Sent it back again $40. Third bulb is at 400hrs, I built a "box" with 4 140mm fans that pull air through a furnace filter to provide dust free air, and have it hooked up to an automatic voltage regulating power supply to ensure good power, and lamp light came on, but it is working still. Bought the 2year extended warranty just in case I have to send it back again, which I probably will. DO NOT BUY THIS PROJECTOR. Or if you absolutely must, I will sell you mine!

Review: HORRIBLE bulb life

Pros: very bright
good value for money

Cons: multiple returns for repair
projector is too unreliable

Review: Although this projector offers good value for money, it has proven very unreliable with several returns to Acer for repair.
Power problems have been common.
If reliability is important, I could not recommend Acer projectors.

Pros: The image is BRIGHT. Even on Eco mode it can easily be seen with lights on.
The menus are very easy to navigate, with many options and customizable areas.
There are inputs for just about every type of connection. I have a PC, Xbox 360 and a PS3 running into it all at the same time. And its just a quick press of a button for it to seamlessly switch between the 3.
Its very quiet.
But once again, what blows my mind is how clear and bright the picture is.

Cons: I had an issue with mine where the bulb wouldnt turn on for sometimes a minute or more. It is SUPPOSED to turn on within a few seconds, but I found myself getting a drink waiting for it to turn on. Needless to say I have had to send it back for repair.
Which brings me to the next bad point...
Acer will not replace your projector. SO you are stuck waiting 3-4 weeks without it.

Review: All in all, I think the AcerŪ PD726W is one of the most brilliant projectors I have seen. If I never had the issue with the start up time, I would be nothing but positive about it.
As much as I hate the fact I had to send it away, and they dont replace it, its more than worth it.
The image quality you get is unreal.
I use it mainly for video games and movies. But i have hooked it up to my computer and was amazed.
I am not even using a screen!. Im projecting right on a wall. And when you see it (even on a green wall!) The colors and sharpness almost make you think you are watching a giant plazma HDTV.
I would HIGHLY recommend it. I just wish ACER would take care of the wait issue when problems arise.
